COORDINARE is led by a skills-based Board which sets the strategic direction and implementation of our strategic priorities. Members bring expertise in primary care, community leadership, education, research, health policy and management, and business.
Our Board provides a unique blend of both private and public perspectives, and innovative thinking to govern and guide our organisation.

Mr Paul Knight
Mr Paul Knight has over 25 years of extensive experience across Indigenous employment, business and economic development. He was the Chief Executive of the Illawarra Aboriginal Land Council until April 2022.

Ms Leanne Wells
Ms Leanne Wells was the Chief Executive Officer of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia until August 2022. She is a health service executive with over three decades of experience. She is presently serving as a Director on the Board of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.

Professor Glenn Salkeld
Professor Glenn Salkeld was the Executive Dean of the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Wollongong and has now retired after 40 years as a health administrator and public health academic.

Professor David Currow
Professor David Currow is a physician by training and was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Sustainable Futures) at The University of Wollongong. He is a widely published academic with research in symptom control, population burden of symptoms, and health services research.
Note: Professor David Currow's role on our Board ended 4 October 2024.

Mr Patrick Reid
Mr Patrick Reid is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), appointed as IRT Group CEO in February 2018, one of Australia’s largest secular not-for-profit aged care providers. IRT specialises in seniors' lifestyle and care solutions.

Mr Chris Stolk
Mr Chris Stolk has more than 25 years’ experience in the accounting and finance field, most of which time has been spent working with organisations in the financial services industry. Currently, Mr Stolk is the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at Peoplecare Health Limited and is responsible for the provision of all financial management functions of the organisation.

Mr Jack Heath AM
Mr Jack Heath brings 27 years non-profit CEO experience in mental health and philanthropy. In 1997, he founded ReachOut! Australia and later ReachOutUSA serving on the Executive Committee of the US National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention. Mr Heath was CEO at SANE Australia (2012-2019) and more recently Philanthropy Australia (2020-2024).

COORDINARE has established four advisory councils that each report to the Board. The councils assist the organisation to evaluate outcomes of services and provide advice regarding the design of new services to meet the needs of local communities.

Clinical Councils
The Illawarra Shoalhaven and Southern NSW Clinical Councils help us understand and address health needs within local communities, including access to services and service gaps.
This year, we welcomed new members Dr Melissa Cave and Dr Madhu Nagaraj to the Illawarra Shoalhaven. We also welcomed Associate Professor, Katrina Anderson, to Southern NSW.

Aboriginal Health Councils
The Aboriginal Health Councils support COORDINARE to gain insight into locally relevant Aboriginal communities’ perspectives regarding their specific health needs.
This year we welcomed many new members to the Illawarra Shoalhaven and Southern NSW Aboriginal Health Councils.

Community Advisory Committee
The Community Advisory Committee provides guidance on how to incorporate the consumer perspective into COORDINARE’s initiatives, and to enhance the overall effectiveness of community consultations.
